CT Community Action Agencies are open and accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program!
(Middletown) – The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that opened on September 1, 2023 remains open and CT Community Action Agencies (CAAs) continue to take and process applications for the 2023-2024 heating season. Connecticut residents who need assistance paying their utility bills and primary heating costs can apply for energy assistance at their local CAA. Community Action Agencies operate LIHEAP in all 169 cities and towns in the state. LIHEAP is the federal program (administered by the Connecticut Department of Social Services) that provides home heating assistance to the state’s most vulnerable residents. In Connecticut this program is called the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP). The program operates from fall to spring each year; the program dates for this heating season are September 1, 2023- May 31, 2024.
