Access is contracted with The Connection, Inc. to provide the Supportive Housing for Families® program. This program provides families served by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) throughout the state with support services and access to safe, quality, affordable and permanent housing. The program is designed to help families become reunited with children who have been placed in foster care, or prevents the placement of children in foster care from happening by combining housing assistance with intensive strength-based case management. The program managers work closely with the clients to secure homes in safe, nurturing neighborhoods, achieve economic independence, develop healthy relationships, and provide their children with a stable and caring home environment.

SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Assist clients in securing housing subsidy and/or rental housing.
  • Provide clients with referrals, advocacy, crisis intervention and counseling services, as needed.
  • Coordinate substance abuse treatment, such as relapse prevention, children’s services, educational support and parenting training.
