February 1st through the 28th marks the observance of Black History Month, where contributions and achievements of Black and African American people and communities are celebrated and remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. The 2024 Black History Month theme is, “African Americans and the Arts,” an acknowledgement of “African American artists- poets, writers, visual artists, and dancers- have historically served as change agents through their crafts”.
